Little Sprouts Learning is a unique, pre-scholastic, learn-through-play program. Led by an educator, Little Sprouts features hands-on experiments and imaginative make-and-take home projects designed to nurture young minds and develop a good understanding of core literacy concepts, including art, history, math, and science. For ages 18-months – 6 years with an accompanying adult; Included with admission/Members free.
Oct. 4 & 6: Finding Fortune—Scoop, dig, hunt, sort, and sift through containers filled with beans, rice, sand, and seeds to uncover buried treasures of gold nuggets, jewels, and pearls. Practice hand-eye coordination while finding fortune in this fun sensory activity.
Oct. 11 & 13: J-E-L-L-Opulence!—Get messy in this slimy, gooey scavenger hunt. Enjoy a sensory experience with Jell-O as we strengthen our math skills finding and counting hidden coins.
Oct. 18 & 20: Sand Painting: Art of the Southwest Tribes—The Navajo tribes of the American Southwest create some of the most spectacular sand paintings in the world, an art form that requires incredible concentration and hand-eye coordination skills. For the Navajo people, sand paintings are a meaningful expression of art; they think of them as sacred places and use them in healing ceremonies to bring peace and good health.
Oct. 25 & 27: Pumpkin Play—Just in time for fall festivities, come learn about the life-cycle of pumpkins while experimenting with squishing, carving, smelling, and learning recipes for cooking with pumpkins.
