Talk Back!
The Community Responds to the Permanent Collection

Whatcom Museum, 1892 Old City Hall

On behalf of its community, the Whatcom Museum is fortunate to hold and care for nearly 250,000 objects in its permanent collection. The majority of these works of art, history, and ethnology were donated by local community members, representing the rich cultural heritage of our region. Taking an unconventional approach to museum labels, visitors will be encouraged to write their own responses to a wide range of objects from the Museum’s permanent collection. Many of these visitor response labels will be worked into the exhibition design, creating a dialogue between the Museum and the community it serves. Media sponsorship provided by Bank NorthWest.
