Touted as the "dean of newsreel men in the Pacific Northwest" by photographer Patsie Sinkey in 1945, Will Hudson captured the essence of life in the Pacific Northwest through his moving images. Selected footage in several thematic experiences will provide viewers with an insight to a variety turn of the century cultural events, explorations, environmental, and economic facets of the region. The Whatcom Museum’s Hudson collection includes footage from expeditions to the Arctic, whaling aboard the Aberdeen, and a vast assortment of images documenting Pacific Northwest events in the first half of the 20th Century.
