From fire department mascots to vaudeville’s pooch performers, the Whatcom Museum’s photo archives include
numerous vintage images of canines, from the 1890s to the 1960s. This fun exhibit for the entire family, with a
high-level of cute and adorable, celebrates that special relationship between dogs and their people. Pulled from
the Sandison, Kinsey, Carver and Biery collections, approximately 60 photographs range from formal studio portraits
to candid views about town. Stories from early Bellingham newspapers provide insight into how dogs were viewed and
treated in the past. Sponsored in part by Mary & Frank King, PetStop, Downtown Hound and Walker's Healthy Pets.
