Internationally-renowned artist and cultural critic Amalia Mesa-Bains discusses the artists and artworks featured in the exhibition Images of Resilience: Chicano Art and its Mexican Roots. Mesa-Bains’ artwork features altar installations that reflect her Mexican heritage and reference the spiritual practices and traditions of her culture. Mesa-Bains lectures on Chicano art and multi-culturalism nationally and has been a community advocate throughout California. She is currently Professor Emerita at California State University of Monterey Bay. $5 suggested donation/Members free.
