Aug. 2 – 6: Cedar to Sea: Coast Salish Canoes—Carved from western red cedar trees, canoe-making is an important tradition of Pacific Northwest Coast tribes. Learn why Coast Salish canoes are considered among the best engineered in the world, while constructing a paper canoe.
Aug. 9 – 20: Moon Medallions—Take your eyes to the night sky and learn the key phases of the moon cycle. Bring home a moon-phase necklace for easy reference and as a handmade keepsake.
Aug. 23 – Sept. 3: Unmistakable Me: In and Out Portraits—Create a self-portrait that captures how you look to other people (on the outside) and expresses how you feel about yourself (on the inside).
