April 1 – 9: Build a Bug—Choose from a number of paper shapes to collage together a bug, real or imagined. Does your bug have wings? Or antennae? Does your bug have stripes or spots? The possibilities are endless!
April 12 – 23: Scientific Illustration: Drawing Plants from Observation—Scientific illustrators capture nature’s forms and details in the most realistic way possible, so that others may learn through their work. Try your hand at this role by studying closely a variety of plants and then drawing and recording everything you see.
April 26 – 30: Paint Brush Possibilities—Did you know that paint brushes can be made from plants and animal hair? Learn about the materials that artists have used throughout history to make all kinds of brushes to create different brushstroke lines and textures, and then make your own!
