BELLINGHAM AND WHATCOM COUNTY HISTORY
(Currently under revision - please call for availability) Presentations include a slide program of vintage photographs describing the development of the community, followed by a tour of logging, settlement cabin and tools, and Victorian room scenes. At times, tours of a current temporary exhibit can be added. Several other local history slide programs presented by museum staff are available as in-class outreach programs. Call for details.
This program at the Museum is 1 hour and 30 minutes long as a third or fourth grade curriculum program but adaptable to all ages. Outreach slide programs usually run from 30 to 45 minutes.
LOGGING HISTORY
Looking At Logging presents a slide program of vintage images big trees and forests and logging techniques past and present, followed by an examination of our logging exhibit and miniature logging dioramas. It uses a worksheet to look closely at detail and reinforce concepts from the slide program. The 30 minute slide program is also available as an outreach program to be presented in the school classroom.
This program at the Museum is 1 hour and 15 minutes long as a fourth to sixth grade curriculum program but adaptable to all ages.
